Anja Securius, Mezzosoprano

Anja Securius was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She studied voice at the Music Conservatory in Würzburg , where she won the first prize in the Armin Knab Lieder Competition. Later she became a master class student of Ks. Erika Köth , under whose aegis she appeared in numerous opera concerts. One of these concerts was recorded and broadcast by the Southwest Radio Baden-Baden .

From 1987 to 1991 she was engaged as a soloist at the State Theater of the Saarland in Saarbrücken , where she performed many roles,including Oktavian, Cherubino, Dorabella and Nicklausse. Since then she has had guest engagements at the State Theater of Schwerin , the State Theater of Karlsruhe and at the Theater of the Altmark in Stendal .

In 1998 she appeared as a soloist with the Carolina Camerata of Heidelberg, where she performed the St. John Passion (alto arias) in Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, and in five cities in the Georgian Republic.

From 1996 to 2000 she taught voice at the County School of Music, Halberstadt , since 2000 she has her own private vocal studio in Munich. She is also active as a Lieder and concert singer.
